2018 Summer Rules. We follow the AABC White Book which you will find below.

If you do not see it in the White Book we follow MLB Rules 

 There are three rules not in the White Book ( Please see Below)

1. Managers will have teh option of batting everyone or batting 9. ( Regular season only)

2. Injury Rule - We do not want to see a game end because a player got hurt so we have adopted the following. 

A. If you batted only 9 players and used all yoru subs we then will allow a sub to reenter.

B. If you batted everyone and a players gets hurt and can not continue to play it is not an out you will skip over teh player who got hurt.

IF A PLAYER IS EJECTED HE IS OUT AND IF YOU HAVE UNUSED SUBS LEFT AND YOU BATTED 9 YOU WILL LOSE THE GAME.

3. NO SLASH BUNTING: THIS MEANS THAT A PLAYER CAN NOT SHOW BUNT AND THEN PULL BACK AND SWING AWAY. IF HE DOES THE BATTER IS OUT.  ( 14u and under)

15U - 18U   ONE WOOD STICK OR BUAM BAT - NO ALL COMPOSITE BATS

14U- BBCOR OR WOOD

9U - 13U    USA STAMPED BATS UNLIMITED WEIGHTS AND MAY NOT EXCEED 2 5/8 BARREL

THEY MAY ALSO USE A BBCOR OR WOOD AND TEH SPECS ARE LESS THEN TEH USA BATS

8U AND ONLY 8U. USA BATS UP TO 2 5/8 OR  BPF 1.15 2 1/4 BARREL BATS ( ONLY FOR 8U THEY CAN USE BPF 1.15 FOR 2018 BECAUSE THEY WERE SO LIMITED )

NEW JERSEY YOUTH BASEBALL

2018  NJYB Summer  SEASON

8u Clemente Division

 

We follow the AABC White Book with a few New Jersey Youth Baseball amendments. Any rule not in the AABC White Book or amended by the New Jersey Youth Baseball Rules will be played under the rules set forward by  Major League Baseball Rules under the National League Rule Book.

 

Game length:  An Official game will be 6 innings or the mercy Rule

 

Mercy Rule: For the Summer League Play Only: If a team is ahead 10 runs after 4 innings or 3 ½ if the home team is ahead it is an official game.

 

Field Dimensions:  The pitcher’s mound will be 40 feet from the tip of home plate and the based will be 60 feet from home plate. ( 40 X 60 )

 

Pitching Restriction: A Pitcher may not pitch more than 3 inning in a day. Innings consist of 3 outs. Follow Pitch Smart Chart

 

Leading: Is permitted after the ball crosses the plate.

 

Stealing: 3 Steals per inning once the ball crosses the plate. No Runner can advance HOME unless it’s a Batted Ball, a Dead Ball, or a Walk.

 

Balks No Balks

 

Dropped 3rd Strike No Dropped 3rd Strike

 

Bats; MUST HAVE BPF 1.15 ONLY 2 ¼ Barrel in NJ Season Play All other Bats must have the USA Baseball Stamp on them and no bigger than 2 5/8

 

Batting Order; Coaches may bat 9 players or the entire team that is present No DH or EH are permitted

If a team bats all players available then they will use free defense substitution if they chose to bat 9 players then it will be High School Substituting for defense of players.

 

New Jersey Youth Baseball Injury  Rule in case a coach used all substitutes or when batting everyone;

A)    If coaches have used all their substitution and a player gets hurt a coach may re-enter a sub so the game does not end on forfeit.

B)    If a Coach choices to bat everyone and a player gets literally hurt then he will be skipped over and it will not count as a out

C)    If a coach used all his players and a player is ejected and the team has no more subs that team will forfeit regardless of the score.

D)    If a Coaches batted everyone and a player was ejected that spot every time it comes up will be recorded as a out unless it the last out of the game.

 

Player ejection: If a player is ejected that player may remain on the bench unless the umpire declares that player is a distraction to the team then that player will be removed from the bench.

Player will sit out the next game. The Coach will sit out the next 2 games.

Rosters;  New Jersey Youth Baseball Roster form is the only excepted form

                Must be submitted prior to the first game

                Teams can carry up to 20 players on their rosters

 

Insurance: Needs to name as insured

Game length:  An Official game will be 6 innings or the mercy Rule

Leading: Is permitted as regular baseball rules

 

Stealing: Is unlimited

Game length:  An Official game will be 7 innings or the mercy Rule

Field Dimensions:  The pitcher’s mound will be 50 feet from the tip of home plate and the based will be 70 feet from home plate. ( 50 X 70)

13u Division 60/90 Town or Club

 

We follow the AABC White Book with a few New Jersey Youth Baseball amendments. Any rule not in the AABC White Book or amended by the New Jersey Youth Baseball Rules will be played under the rules set forward by  Major League Baseball Rules under the National League Rule Book.

 

Game length:  An Official game will be 7 innings or the mercy Rule ( Teams may play a double header of 2 games of 6 innings or 1 game of 9iinings and count it twice.

 

Mercy Rule: If a Team is ahead by 8 runs after 5 innings or 4 ½ if the home team is ahead the game is an official game.

Field Dimensions:  The pitcher’s mound will be 60.6 feet from the tip of home plate and the based will be 90 feet from home plate. ( 60 X 90)

 

Pitching Restriction: Follow Pitch Smart Chart A Pitcher may not pitch more 2 Days in a row ( 1 pitch constitutes a day)

 

Leading: Is permitted as regular baseball rules

 

Stealing: Is unlimited

 

Balks: Will be enforced

 

Dropped 3rd Strike: is played

 

Bats; Must have the USA Baseball Stamp on them and may not exceed 2 5/8 Barrel  

    Or – BBCOR -3 bats ONLY. The Bat must have the BBCOR Stamp on the Bat Players may Also use a All Wood Stick( Bat)

 

Batting Order;

E)    Coaches may use a  DH but NO EH during the Spring Season

F)    If a team bats all players available then they will use free defense substitution if they chose to bat 9 players then it will be High School Substituting for defense of players
