Managers and Coaches

We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday season. As you all are preparing for 2017 Baseball or not thinking of it since its cold outside. NJYB has been working very hard to prepare for this up and coming 2017.

New Jersey Youth Baseball web site was www.njyb.net  we will continue to post on this web site until the end of Spring 2017 but, we now have a new web site that we will be using  www.NJYB.us   This web site is under construction and will be up and live in the next two weeks. Teams will now be able to register online, pay by credit card and upload rosters on our new web site.

There have been a lot of new things going on in youth baseball. As many of you are aware NJYB is affiliated with Three National Programs, AABC (American Amateur Baseball Congress), NABF (National Amateur Baseball Federation), and PONY (Protect Our National Youth).

Since NJYB is affiliated with all three programs we will keep out   Age Cut-off at 1 May as in years pasted for the 2017 season.

Up and coming changes for the 2017 season as  followed.

  1. NJYB league is open to all teams from the Tri-State Area.

  2. During League play and Tournaments (Except Memorial Day Tournament) we will now be following the Pitch Smart Chart for Pitchers. This Chart has been set by Major League Baseball and being enforced by USA Baseball and MLB. All National Programs will now follow this pitch count chart. Many of us may not agree on the number of pitchers a pitch can throw, but with it being enforced for the first time we will all have to work with what has been laid out in the chart. The pitch count is to protect the arms of the pitchers and to force teams to develop more pitchers.

  3. Bats for 2017 will remain the same for 13u the bats must be BPF1.15 and for 14u BBCOR and for 15u and up all Wood Bats ( One Wood Stick No Composite)

  •  Please advise your parents to please not run out and purchase new bats for their children in 2017 if they are under 13 years old as the Bat Rule will be changing Sept 2017 for the young ages 13u and under.

  • AABC has paired up with Puffy Bats, He has designed a BBCO -3 Bat these bats are $500-$600 in the store and they can be purchased from the AABC or your league directors for $249. We have tested these bats in 2016 in the fall season and the players who had used them feel that the weight is disturbed equally throughout the entire bat making it a better swing.

  1. ABBC will only provide travel money to the following World Series Teams 12u, 14u and 18u.

  2. We have some of the best baseball teams in the country in our area and many of you go out of state to play in tournaments. NJYB is now providing additional ways for your teams to advance to World Series, Super Regional and Regional Tournaments.

NJYB will be offering the following Leagues and Tournaments for the 2017 season.

  1. Spring Season – We will be offering the following age divisions. 2 April to 21 May Play-offs 3 & 4 June 2017. See Flyer attached
