NEW JERSEY YOUTH BASEBALL

2016 NJYB FALL RULES

9u Division

 

We follow the AABC White Book with a few New Jersey Youth Baseball amendments. Any rule not in the AABC White Book or amended by the New Jersey Youth Baseball Rules will be played under the rules set forward by  Major League Baseball Rules under the National League Rule Book.

 

Game length:  An Official game will be 6 innings or the mercy Rule ( 10 Runs )

 

Mercy Rule: For the Fall only If a team is ahead 10 runs after 4 innings or 3 ½ if the home team is ahead it is an official game.

 

Field Dimensions:  The pitcher’s mound will be 46 feet from the tip of home plate and the based will be 65 feet from home plate. ( 46 X 65 )

 

Pitching Restriction: A Pitcher may not pitch more than 6 inning in a day. An inning consists of outs. ( 3 inning , 2 1/3 inning 1 2/3 innings)

 

Leading: Is permitted as regular baseball rules

 

Stealing: Is unlimited but limited to 1 steal home per inning.

 

Balks: are instructional in the fall

 

Dropped 3rd Strike: is played

 

Bats; MUST HAVE BPF 1.15 stamp on them 2 ¼ or 2 5/8 barrel of the bat unlimited weigh def.

          NO 2 3/4 bats are permitted in New Jersey

 

Batting Order; Coaches may bat 9 players or the entire team that is present No DH or EH are permitted

If a team bats all players available then they will use free defense substitution if they chose to bat 9 players then it will be High School Substituting for defense of players

 

New Jersey Youth Baseball Injury  Rule in case a coach used all substitutes or when batting everyone;

  1. If coaches have used all their substitution and a player gets hurt a coach may re-insert a sub so the game does not end on forfeit.

  2. If a Coach choices to bat everyone and a player gets literally hurt then he will be skipped over and it will not count as a out

  3. If a coach used all his players and a player is ejected and the team has no more subs that team will forfeit regardless of the score.

  4. If a Coaches batted everyone and a player was ejected that spot every time it comes up will be recorded as a out unless it the last out of the game.

 

Player ejection: If a player is ejected he is ejected from that game and the next. The player may remain on the bench unless the umpire declares that player is a distraction to the team then that player will be removed from the bench.

 

Rosters;  New Jersey Youth Baseball Roster form is the only excepted form

                Must be submitted prior to the first game

                Teams can carry up to 20 players on their rosters

 

Insurance: Needs to name NJYB as insured

Field Dimensions:  The pitcher’s mound will be 60.6 feet from the tip of home plate and the based will be 90 feet from home plate. ( 60 X 90)

 

Pitching Restriction: A Pitcher may not pitch more than 7 inning in a day. An inning consists of outs. ( 3 inning , 2 1/3 inning 1 2/3 innings)

Important Thought to remember: The game is for the players , each player should play in a safe environment, the players are to play the game, the Coaches are to coach and the parents are to watch and support the players.

Each manger is responsible for sportsmanship and the control of their fans and parents

NJYB/ AABC RULES

WE FOLLOW MAJOR LEAGUE RULES WITH MODIFICATIONS AT THE YOUNGER AGES WITH THE INTENTION OF THE PLAYERS LEARING THE BASIC OF THE GAME AND THE CORRECT TECHNIQUES OF PLAYING THE GAME.

AT EVERY EVEN AGE GROUP THE FIELDS ARE INCREASED AND THE PITCHING RULES CHANGE ADDING INNINGS

8U PLAY ON A 40/50 FIELD ----- 9U / 10U PLAY ON A 46/65 FIELD ----- 11U / 12U PLAY ON A 50/70 FIELD

13U AND HIGHER PLAY ON A 60/90 FIELD

WE OFFER THE FOLLOWING AGES IN THE FALL

8U-THRU – 18U DIVISION

COST FOR THE FALL IS $250 IF YOUR TEAM REGISTERS BEFORE 15 August YOU WILL RECEIVE A TEAM DISCOUNT OF $25 MAKING THE FINAL COST $225 but if you were a NJYB-RBA Summer team and Register by the 15 August we will drop the fee to $200

ALL GAMES IN THE FALL ARE 1 GAME OF 6 ( 8-10u ) or 7 INNINGS ( 11u -18u )

NJYB SUNDAY SPRING LEAGUE

 TEAMS WILL BE SCHEDULED TO PLAY ON SUNDAYS ( IF BOTH COACHES AGREE TO MOVE THE GAME THAT IS OK BUT ONLY IF BOTH AGREE IF NOT ALL GAMES ARE TO BE PLAYED ON SUNDAYS)

NJYB IS NOT CHANGING ITS CUT OFF AGE IN THE FALL WE WILL REMAIN WITH THE 1 MAY CUT OFF DATE

In the Fall it’s hard to keep Town and Club Separate but we will try our best to balance out the level of teams.

 Season will begin on 11 September and go to 1 November

 Play-offs will be played on 6 November League Championship 13 November

 PLAY-OFFS FOR THE TOP 4 TEAMS ( SINGLE ELIMINATION TO A WINNER IS CROWNED)

 NJYB FOLLOW’S AABC WHITE BOOK WHICH FOLLOWS THE MLB NATIONAL LEAGUE RULE BOOK

 EACH TEAM WILL BE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT A NJYB/AABC TEAM ROSTER AND INSURANCE NAMING :

 We suggest that in the Fall season that teams move up to the following age that they played in the summer. We cannot force teams to move up but if your team decided to play down you will be playing teams that are younger
