Enter content hereNJYB Spring recreation Season for 13 and 14u teams.

(15 yr may play with the 14u team as long as the player does not turn 16 during the season and is NOT in HIGH SCHOOL)

Teams will play other local towns in Bergen County

Season will start 3 April and go thru 23 May this will give teams 8 weeks to play baseball.

Scheduling will be done giving each team 2 games a week.

We will play games on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday ( if a team does not have a field or can’t play on the day scheduled Mangers may re-arrange schedule with other mangers /coaches. This still allows Coaches practice time with their teams and players time for family activities, homework and so forth

With the tough economies and Recreations numbers being down we have decided to bring towns together to form a league for the kids. Many towns have lost numbers for various reason some being players going to play with club teams, middle school teams, finances or kids just not interested in playing baseball. This has left many towns with few teams at these ages and towns have been forced to cancel seasons or combine league with other local towns to allow the kids a place to play.

In deciding to form this league we have heard from numerous towns, coaches and directors asking us to put this together for the teams and players/kids.

We have decided to run 2 separate leagues for those towns that keep their 13u & 14u players separate. My experience with most town teams is they have 13 and 14 year old kids on the same teams in recreation.  One it’s easier to manger and it also give you some balance setting up teams.  The 14u team will be allowed to have no more then 2 players that are 15 year old on their teams. The 15-year-old players must not be in High School and have to show proof they are in the 8th grade. The thinking behind this is that we do not want to turn any kids away that want to play but we need to have control on the situation. Some kids now have found themselves unable to play for their middle school teams or recreations due to either a late start in school, birthdates or being left back. By us allowing these kids to play it keeps them active and off the street. Surely many may have some disbelief with this idea but by us controlling it as a league it should not cause any issues. For those towns that want to build their teams based on age teams may do so

Example: A town may decide to have all 13 u players on one team and all 14u players on another building the teams for next year in High School

Or

A town may decide to put all their kids together and come in the league

This league is being made to help League director’s town officials and coaches play games for their players that are equal and fair

Our mission is to keep kids off the street and allow them to have a good time while making memories, forming life time friends and the chance to continue to play the game

Teams will receive a 12 and we will also have single elimination play-offs to make it interested. Teams do not have to play in the play-offs it’s a opportunity to provide additional games and competiveness for all. ( Towns with more then one team can still have their in town Championship games this is just extra for everyone)

We will follow High School Federation Rules in this league

Cost will be $100 to set up schedules maintain scores and standings

If your town is interested please let me know
